Statewide Muslim Protests Planned Against Proposed Amendments to Waqf Act

Muslim organizations and community leaders across the state have announced a series of protests against the proposed amendments to the Waqf Act. They claim the changes could weaken the powers of State Waqf Boards and make it easier for government authorities to take control of Waqf properties, which are meant for religious, charitable, and community welfare purposes.

Leaders allege that the amendments threaten the autonomy of the Muslim community in managing its own religious endowments. They are also concerned about possible misuse and encroachment of Waqf lands if these changes are implemented.

Protests are being planned in several districts, with peaceful rallies, public meetings, and awareness campaigns. Activists are calling on the central and state governments to withdraw the proposed changes and consult community representatives before making any legal alterations to the Act.

The issue has sparked strong emotions among various Muslim groups, who say they are ready to intensify their agitation if their concerns are not addressed.
