Kathua, J&K: A sudden cloudburst in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district claimed the lives of four people, creating panic in the region on Saturday. Heavy rainfall triggered flash floods, washing away small structures and damaging property in the affected areas.
Local authorities and disaster response teams rushed to the site to carry out rescue and relief operations. Several people trapped in low-lying areas were evacuated to safer locations. The district administration has issued an alert and urged residents to remain cautious, especially in flood-prone zones.
Officials confirmed that the situation is being closely monitored and immediate compensation for the victims’ families is being arranged.
This tragic incident once again highlights the increasing risk of extreme weather events in Jammu and Kashmir during the monsoon season.
