1. Protests Across India:

People in cities like Phagwara (Punjab) and Cuttack (Odisha) protested on April 19, 2025. They said the new Waqf law is unfair and could lead to government control over waqf properties.


2. Legal Action in Supreme Court:

Many people have filed cases in the Supreme Court against the new law. The court told the government to respond and also ordered that waqf properties should not be touched until the next hearing.


3. Increased Security in Delhi:

Police have increased security in areas like Jama Masjid and Jamia Nagar, expecting protests. Drones and CCTV cameras are also being used to monitor the situation.
